ACCME Accreditation

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) recently awarded Nemours “Accreditation with Commendation” as a provider of continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. This is the highest level of accreditation and, on average, only 10% of CME providers achieve this designation.

This accreditation is the result of a year-long reaccreditation process that included a self-study report, evidence of performance-in-practice and an onsite accreditation interview conducted by ACCME reviewers. Nemours met each of 22 criteria covering essential areas, elements and policies specified by the ACCME.

"I am proud of everyone in Education; this achievement was the result of teamwork and dedication on the part of every member of the Education staff," said Dr. Pamela Arn, Nemours Director of Education.

Nemours Office of CME’s mission is to support physicians in their commitment to life-long learning by identifying educational needs and designing educational programs to enhance performance. They include: live courses, regularly scheduled conferences (e.g., Grand Rounds, Tumor Board), Internet/online enduring materials (e.g., PedsEducation.org) and Point-of-Care learning.
